The Mini-Max load pickup tool uses proven technology and design safety features incorporated in other Utility Solutions load break products for light weight and compact size. The Mini-Max uses a remote trigger design rather than a bulky lanyard or unsafe hand activation to provide the maximum in operator safety during the load pickup operation. The tool comes with a positive lock to insure it stays in the circuit open position until the operator is ready to proceed. Once in the circuit closed position the Mini-Max employs a unique design feature which prevents an operator from accidentally trying to open the closed circuit. The Mini-Max can only be re-opened by turning the tool upside down and pulling the black plunger until locked into the open position. On an overhead line this operation will be extremely difficult! The clear outer body permits a visible confirmation of the circuit open or circuit closed configuration. The tool is configured with floating head for gloved installation and removal and comes equipped with a parking stand to permit use of existing jumper cables.

The work practices of some organizations do not allow the use of gloved installation or removal of hot line tools. To meet this demand Utility Solutions offers the Mini-Max with a duckbill head option. Supplied with the duckbill head option the Mini-Max can be installed and removed from the line using a shotgun stick. In addition a special positive lock design permits use with a shotgun stick.
