Production Associate/ Assembler

Utility Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Production Associate/ Assembler to join our team. We design and manufacture specialized tools for use in the electrical utility industry. Our tools help ensure the safe delivery of electricity to people’s homes and businesses on the grid.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Fabricate and assemble insulated tools used by Electrical Utility Companies. These include telescopic poles, load break/pickup devices and accessories.
Read and interpret work instructions to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
Measure, position, align, and adjust material for proper fit and assembly
Fabricate or form parts according to work instructions, using hand and power tools.
Test completed units to ensure compliance with Specifications.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year of Manufacturing experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.00 – $16.00 /hour

Electronic Assembler

We are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable individual to work with our electronic device product line. This is a permanent, first shift position. Mon.-Fri. schedule. Utility Solutions is an Essential Critical Infrastructure company, as defined by the Federal Government.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Fabricate, wire, and assemble electrical and electronic devices used by Electrical Utility Companies. These include training simulators, testing devices, and load break/pickup tools.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and work instructions to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures.
Mount components and wiring. Make connections and solder to permanently complete connection.
Electrically test completed units to ensure compliance with specifications.

Qualifications:

This position requires excellent attention to detail and working with colored wires and components to create a finished product.
The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical soldering and detailed assembly in a manufacturing environment.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1 year of Manufacturing experience preferred.

Plant Manager/Operations Manager

Utility Solutions Inc, located in Hickory, NC is seeking to hire a Plant Operations Manager that exhibits strong leadership and analytical skills. Utility Solutions Inc is a trusted designer and manufacturer of electrical components utilized on the electrical grid worldwide.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Coordinates manufacturing operations to fabricate and deliver parts in a safe manner that meet or exceed customer goals and expectations.
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, including worker safety, as well as meeting all OSHA, local, state, and federal requirements.
Works closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure that operations meets and exceeds all customer needs and requirements.
Works closely with Engineering and Marketing to aid in the development of new products and processes.
Works closely with Accounting to ensure accurate tracking of all costs and expenses.
Evaluates information such as job routings, product specifications, parts and material inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operations.
Provides coaching, mentoring and training for all plant supervisory employees and direct daily responsibilities and activities of Production Supervisor(s), Planner(s), Purchasing and Team-Leads.
Expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments.
Provides coaching, mentoring and training for all plant supervisory employees, including those in production, material control, and office functions.
Provides leadership for promoting and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of the facility.
Responsible for overall product quality.
Analyzes short and long-term production and manpower capabilities and provides strategies and makes recommendations to meet the anticipated requirements.
Generates and monitors efficiency and productivity measures. Provides financial information including cost analysis and cost justifications for expenditures.
Interacts effectively with employees at all levels of the Company and has the ability to create and maintain a cohesive and unified work force.

Qualifications:

Candidate must have ability to work independently, be a self-starter and self-managed
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques such as 6S, Kaizen, Kan Ban, and Continuous improvement
A penchant for being proactive
A flexible and adaptable leader in highly fluid environment (comfortably handles rapid and repeated changes in priority and focus); can manage processes effectively and uses interpersonal savvy to relate to others
Proven track record of strong operational leadership and demonstrated business acumen
Ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies
Skill in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating a wide variety of activities; developing implementing and communicating policies and procedures for organization; analyzing data, making sound recommendations and adopting effective causes of action; working persuasively and tactfully with all levels of the organization
Supervision of professional staff; communicating effectively both in oral and written form
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Familiar with Project Management and the use of project management tool
B.S. Degree in Management/Engineering or another related field, MBA a plus
Minimum of 7 years Plant Management/Operations Management experience

Salary: $90,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
