Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will work under the guidance and direction of the Accounting Manager.This individual will be responsible for executing the day-to-day financial functions for Utility Solutions, Inc. as well as other various duties assigned to them.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the day-to-day operations of the company
Assist with month end closing process
Complete year-end closing process and gathering of information for tax returns
Product costing and variance analysis
Completion of assigned account reconciliations
Setup and maintenance of vendors
Entering vouchers into ERP system
Act as a backup for purchasing
Act as a backup for payroll processing
Capital asset tracking
Work with department supervisors to develop yearly budget
Ad hoc reporting
Assist with Sales and Use Tax returns
Assist with inventory cycle counts
Other miscellaneous tasks as required
Education and Experience:

BA/BS or equivalent in accounting
Prior audit experience is a plus
3+ years of experience in accounting

General ledger experience
Previous cost accounting experience
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with accruals
Self-motivated and ability to work with limited guidance in a team setting
Strong problem solving & analytical skills
Strong organization and planning skills
SQL and database knowledge are a plus

Customer Service Representative


The Customer Service Representative will work under the guidance and direction of the Business Services Manager. This individual will be responsible for executing the day-to-day customer service functions for Utility Solutions, Inc. as well as other various duties assigned to them.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage incoming calls/emails and customer service inquiries
Provide pricing and/or lead-times
Generate quotes for customers
Process customer orders according to department policies and procedures.
Assist with setting up new customers in database and maintaining accurate customer records
Initiate Return Material Authorizations and follow them through their entirety
Assist in maintaining records of sample orders and demo units
Assist with international orders
Education and Experience:

High school Degree or equivalent
Previous experience in customer support
Prior experience with sales tax and exemption certificates is a plus

Proven customer support experience and experience handling customer complaints
Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills and experience with CRM systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and oral communication skills
